Day 0: Day 1: Arusha/Moshi – Tarangire National Park
Your family safari begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. After a short safari briefing with your professional guide, drive to Tarangire National Park. The park is famous for its magnificent baobab trees, seasonal Tarangire River and large elephant herds. Upon arrival, begin your first game drive through the park, exploring open grasslands, woodland and wildlife-rich areas. Families can expect opportunities to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, warthogs, monkeys, lions and a variety of bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated picnic area before continuing with an afternoon game drive. In the late afternoon, leave the park and drive to your comfortable lodge in the Karatu or Mto wa Mbu area for dinner and relaxation.
Day 1: Day 2: Tarangire – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Tarangire National Park, when wildlife is often active and the cooler temperatures make the experience comfortable for families. Continue exploring the park and look for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, lions and other wildlife. After the game drive, depart Tarangire and travel towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey takes you through beautiful countryside, local villages and the scenic highlands of Northern Tanzania. Depending on your family's interests and available time, an optional cultural experience can be arranged along the way. Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon, check in and enjoy time to relax, enjoy the surroundings and prepare for your Ngorongoro Crater adventure the following morning.
Day 2: Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha/Moshi
Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before driving to the Ngorongoro Crater entrance. Descend approximately 600 metres into the crater for an unforgettable morning game drive across its diverse landscapes. The crater floor provides excellent opportunities for families to observe wildlife in a relatively compact area. Look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas and a wide variety of birds. With luck, you may also spot the endangered black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a designated area while surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the crater. After lunch, begin the ascent from the crater and start your journey back to Arusha or Moshi. Your safari ends with a hotel drop-off or transfer to your preferred accommodation.
